AI Usage Policy

Unlike most people, I don’t fall into either bucket of “I hate AI” or “I love AI” because I believe there’s a time and place for when AI use is inevitable, smart, and necessary.

This page outlines how I use AI across my publishing, which includes this site and the accompanying YouTube channel.

I do use AI for:

  • Researching content ideas
  • Performing web searches to pull information from different sources
  • Structuring and outlining for better flow and clarity
  • Grammar and phrasal correction
  • Experimenting with different story angles
  • Generating decorative imagery that goes into articles/video backgrounds. Such imagery is always clearly labeled.

I don’t use AI for:

  • Generating text/copy to be published directly into the site (or as voiceover into my videos).
  • Convincing myself one way or another about a particular topic. I do my own thinking and share my own analysis and commentary on my posts/videos.

What this means:

  • Even though AI is heavily used in pre- and post-production, nothing you actually read comes directly from any AI or LLM.
  • The “Listen to this article” feature (when available) automatically generates voiceover for the written text. That voice is powered by AI, but the actual content is always human-written.
  • AI-generated imagery may be in use, and in these cases, a clear label is provided to distinguish AI images from real photographs.
